Diving 03:11
The best minds of our time Spreading independent thought Deconstructed in the hive Hard to survive We share the mystery of our lives The reasons we don't feel complete inside Just a body of water In search of a tide I deep dive every night Stimulate or paralyze Kill the pain Or seek the light And next time I'll live it right
2.
Deeper in Oh the smell of it On familiar ground I bare my skin There's a thrill in it This is what I've found I've become more resilient I keep my head down How I long to be rid of everyone I just walk around this city And I never get tired of living light And running down time It's an irrelevant fate anyway All an irrelevant fate By the time that you hear from me I'll be cut off There's no doubt you appear to me At my lowest point I have learned how to hide my bread And play dead I don't feel bad You could say I'm oblivious A lost boy But it's my choice It's an irrelevant fate anyway All an irrelevant fate
3.
Do we really know? I mean really know I was wondering Does it show? How these thoughts come And why they should come to me There's an impulse In all of us I suppose But how much is it controlled? All these thoughts come But why should they come to me? An image sewn A thought has grown My tongue holds all the weight of the unsaid And when I'm read Will you have known the meaning I first had? These thoughts come All long may they come to me

Ritual Moon 03:19
The object of my future unsure I studied Law and the Humanities Every culture with their rituals defined A unified mind Yours and mine Symbols of connection and trust Their power discussed and studied endlessly Differentiate today from the past Dust always lasts Always lasts I got swallowed up The land gave way I'll leave here one day I have been surpassed At last Replaced And all in one day I am a definitive plan Transition to man Fulfill a destiny Imagine being weightless tonight The absence of mass and light The immediate is conscious defined I tie you to mine A dark infinity through time Remember me
5.
Vientre 03:48
The time it takes to carve out a space To settle your place And put down the broom To fill your plate To ponder a face, every day Reflect and consume When you left me You entered the past A still photograph Dissolved in the gloom Now let nature win Put dirt on the skin I have been loved by you In dreams we train And learn to explain The body remembers every inch of the womb I'm focusing Observe everything Like a pimple of salt on the tip of my shoe Now let nature win Put dirt on the skin I have been loved by you And everything matters. The ripples don't abate And everything shatters. But the pieces relate It's the only thing real that I've ever known I've been at sea for far too long Accepting your help Along with myself Brings me relief A cooling stone So let nature win Put dirt on the skin I have been loved by you

Aurora 03:19
Listen to the snowfall Every soft regret A blanket over turned fields Forgiving as we tread Our weight The marks of time The imprints we leave here Follow the horses No reins Just torches in the sky The river suggests an ending I guess I'll empty In death Aurora lights Our weight The marks of time The imprints we leave here On the steps of eternity We can see our lives reflected Listen to the snowfall
7.
Denizens and spirits Spread the word It lives beyond the page A sound that never fades or dies Heralded by Brahmin across the world Singing the prayer divine Transcend all Human kind Channel the eternal The echoing Pass to another one Another one Down the line Abandon ties to this earthly life Leave this earthly life Disconnect from privilege Renounce your fears All worldy appetites The only way that you can fly Channel the eternal The echoing Pass to another one Another one Down the line Abandon ties to this earthly life Leave this earthly life
8.
Is there a right time to shake off the old I feel content on my throne I never wanted any sons of my own I'm not in the program I deny my chance to evolve Why bang on the door when it's open Did you think that I'd closed I ain't closed Don't think that I'm closed What could I show them? What do I know? I'm not done growing I crawl I never wanted any sons of my own Outside attraction The pull of instincts I hold I still attend all the dances I drink from the bowl From the bowl

about

Drink From The Bowl, the debut album from Harmonie Fields, is somewhat of a subterranean experience, as if these songs had been secreted away to lie forgotten for years, only now unearthed and brought into the light, wrapped in aged gauze and dripping with cave water. Handle it delicately and you'll be rewarded with a rich and layered musical experience.

A low-lit and dusty sound aesthetic permeates across these 8 melancholic compositions that deal in the human condition. This is emotionally resonant music, overflowing with thoughts on human nature, mythology, free will, mortality and consciousness. Violins scratch out melodies that surface and fill their lungs, pianos echo through flooded ballrooms, harmonium's churn in currents that carry us from song to song as through the rooms of some beautiful, sunken ship.

We're held fast by Andres Barlesi (instrumentation) and Richie Setford (vocals and lyrics), experienced guides who pay homage to vintage records and recording techniques and call to mind music from artists like Scott Walker, Ted Lucas, Moondog, Burt Bacharach and Arthur Russell.

Drink From The Bowl was written in Berlin between 2019-21 (mostly remotely due to the Covid-19 Pandemic) in a collaborative process where Andres would email Richie ideas to consider and work through. Once satisfied with their selection, they came together in an Ostkreuz studio to finish crafting and shaping the material and to record vocal parts, violins and any other additional instrumentation.
